Fundy Failure

About

I am trying to live a life that follows the way of Christ. I have a wife and three sons. I live in southeastern Michigan. This blog chronicles my journey of how, no matter how hard I’ve tried and been groomed, I just keep failing to be a fundamentalist.

Matt, I have enjoyed reading your thoughts. The interchange with Paul Edwards was great! I have so much I would like to chat with you about. Hopefully we can get through my list.

I came across this article about Mark Driscoll

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/11/magazine/11punk-t.html?scp=1&sq=mark%20driscoll&st=cse

and I felt that coming from the times, LIB secular so some negativity to be expected, this really made me question where this guy was coming from. I mean, where does the word say that Jesus was this tough guy and rarr!! rarr!! we men have to be tough and the women are subjugated to the kitchen? Sounds like an ego issue to me. I can understand the intense outreach to reach unbelievers. But the fundamentalist rules he has for members and the outlandish behavior and dress? Your thoughts?
